About me

After my upbringing in Monterrey, México, I moved to the US to start college at Yale University. I graduated in 2016, with majors in both computer science and applied mathematics.
Once I graduated, I started my career in software, first as an engineer and later as a manager and tech lead. My main area of expertise is around Python-based tools for financial modeling, with a special focus on both research productivity tooling (think Jupyter, virtualenvs, etc.) and distributed compute frameworks: Apache Spark, Dask and Ray. Feel free to check out my GitHub and LinkedIn profiles to learn more about my career.
Today I live in Durham, NC, where I spend a lot of time cycling on the American Tobacco Trail. A large amount of my time is also spent volunteering with two organizations I have a special attachment to: the Durham Bike Co-op and Mixteca, a community organization in Brooklyn where I serve on the board.
This site includes my blog. Posts differ across languages, so check both the English and the Spanish site! Most content consists of literary opinions, in Spanish.
